Professional and Civic Involvement

Gregory J. Egan is a senior member of the firm. He heads up the firm’s litigation section. His practice is devoted primarily to handling personal injury claims and wrongful death claims on behalf of injured individuals and their families. Mr. Egan is occasionally called upon to handle a case involving environmental law. Mr. Egan is licensed to practice law in the states of Wisconsin and the state of Minnesota. He has been admitted to practice pro hac vice in many other jurisdictions.

Mr. Egan is an elected member of The American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA) a national organization whose membership is limited to the best trial attorneys in each state. He has also been named as a “Super Lawyer” a designation reserved for the top 5% of the attorneys in the state.

Mr. Egan is a member of the La Crosse County Bar Association, Minnesota State Bar, American Bar Association and the State Bar of Wisconsin. He is a member of the Wisconsin Association for Justice (Director, 1987-200-; Executive Committee, 1999-200-; Regional Director, 1999-200-;). He has also served on the WAJ Program Committee, Amicus Curiae Committee, Nominating Committee, and the War Council. Mr. Egan is also a member of the Environmental Law Section of the State Bar of Wisconsin. Mr. Egan was a Wisconsin Commissioner for the Minnesota-Wisconsin Boundary Area Commission. Greg is also a member of the Minnesota Association for Justice and The American Association for Justice. He is certified as a civil trial advocate by the National Board of Trial Advocacy. The Martindale-Hubbell Law Directory has assigned Mr. Egan an AV rating, the highest available, for professional competence and integrity.

Mr. Egan is often asked to speak at continuing legal education seminars on subjects related to personal injury litigation. He has and also remains available to speak to non-lawyer audiences about civil litigation, personal injury law and the pursuit of justice.

Outdoor recreational pursuits of the Egan Family have been the subject of national news programs.

Greg and his wife Dianne live in rural La Crosse. They have four children. Greg enjoys the outdoors and remains actively involved in many outdoor related activities with his wife and children. He is active in many business, civic, charitable, religious, environmental/outdoor sporting, political and other organizations. He is the recipient of many honors and awards for his volunteer work.

Mr. Egan is also a member of the Executive Committee of that organization. He has demonstrated that he has the experience, integrity, and professional competence to be elected to the American Board of Trial Advocates. ABOTA is a national association of experienced trial lawyers and judges dedicated to preserving the civil jury trial system. Only attorneys with extensive courtroom experience and high ethical standards and integrity are considered for membership. Mr. Egan has also demonstrated that he has sufficient legal trial experience and ethical standards and has passed the comprehensive multi-day examination that is required for certification as a civil trial specialist by the National Board of Trial Advocates. Mr. Egan has been named as a Super Lawyer in the State of Wisconsin.

Gregory Egan has also been an active member of the American Association for Justice (AAJ), formerly ATLA and the Minnesota Association for Justice for over 20 years. Through these and other professional organizations, Mr. Egan has been a relentless advocate for the rights of injured people and their families who seek justice in court rooms even when taking on the most powerful interests.
